This is the story of Ahmed.
Ahmed was an orphan ,
who never knew what it was like to receive
love by a mother or protection by a dad.
He was left all alone confined in his room
until one day , when someone adopted him.
He was given strength against fear,
love against depression,
a bond against loneliness and more importantly
he was guarded from all dangers that awaited to destroy him.
He grew into a fine lad and was trusted with the most important job.
He was happy as he thought everything was finally in place,
but very soon he was left all alone again,
for time and death waits for no man.
And this time the grey cloud that had once left him came back much wilder.
He was surrounded by beastly enemies
who mocked him ; ridiculed him and laid in wait to prey on him
Oh! poor him, for now his life was filled with misery
yet he uttered the same words he had been uttering from day one
"alhamdhulilah" he said with a smile
in spite of all pain, he was grateful.
What if you were made to walk in his shoes.
Would you still be grateful?
Would you pray until your feet swell?
Or have faith and hope even if you were hurt mentally and physically?
And Be patient even when the enemies threatened all those you loved?
Would you still have trust in Allah?
Were your responses yeses or noes?
Sadly, the honest response of most of us would be no.
And that is why we still lag in our lives,
Frustrated by the trivial problems encircling us.
Unable to progress although our life is much less complicated than Ahmed’s.
Allah said “'If you are grateful, I will surely give you more;”
Ahmed was grateful and died with contentment
If you want to die successful
Be grateful.
Be like Ahmed.
Be like Ahmed, say Alhamdulillah! :)
